"People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in,
Their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within."
- Elizabeth Kübler-Ross
Well, I got an answer today about my "riddle." Omair said it was "time." I suppose he's right, though I never even thought of it as a riddle. I merely thought it sounded majestic. I think it's used to describe the people in the world whose happiness depends on having the most and best of everything.

"No no no, this is no coincidence. What we have here is Tanya crossing the threshold into another world. She has the ability to open a portal though which she has gained access to powers, beyond the normal human being!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Either that or she's psychic"

Ok, first blogger entry here. I'm actually calling in live from Singapore. My invitation got filtered out a few weeks ago. Alright, I guess I'll start updating from when my trip started.
So we arrived in the airport in plenty of time and got everything done on time. But when it came time to board the plane, we were deplayed because they said they were fixing the door. The door?!! THe guy then came out and said "Well we had a little problem with the door... it should be alright" I was thinking to myself "What?! What if that door flies off the plane while we're in the air?"
So that's a small event of the airplane ride. We got to London Heathrow Airport. I couldn't stop thinking about the movie Royal Flush. We were at the counter, to get soem stuff done for the flight and my dad gave them our air tickets. After they did they their stuff, they gave us back our tickets. Now we checked the little folders they were kept in and found that we were missing a ticket. Without leaving the counter, we lodged a complaint, stating that they lost our ticket. So there was theis large scramble as we all looked for the godforsaken ticker but to no avail. So the employee said that they could copy the receipt, but it would cost us 25 pounds. 25 POUNDS?! That's equivalent to $110 Canadian. So we were thinking (and saying for that matter) "What the heck?!" We obviously never left the counter so we couldn't have dropped it or anything so whatever thing happened must have happened behind the counter so how could it possibly be our fault enough to justity paying $110. We game them all our tickets and when they gave it back, we checked and there was no air ticket. We hadn't left the counter yet so on what grounds did they stand to say that WE were the ones to lost it and that WE had to pay for a replacement! If we left the counter and then came back saying that we couldn't find the ticket, then they would have been right to charge us for another copy becuase we could have lost it walking away. But the point was the we never left the counter! So whatever happened, it obviously had nothing to do with us. Anyhow, my mother gave them a piece of her mind and in the end, we didn't have to pay. She can be dead fierce.
Anyhow, after that little incident, we arrived in Malaysia where days crawled by VERY slowly. By the end of the first day, I had accumulated over 32 bites from mosquitos. I think it's the Canadian blood thing. My dad tried driving. He was quite successful for a man who is used to driving on the opposite side of the road with the steering wheel on the other side and all. He kept muttering "Improvise! Improvise! You must improvise in these situations!"
Anyhow, stuff there in Malaysia was dead cheap. Badminton stuff there costed less than half the price so we ended up purchasing a truckload of new things.
A week later, my mother and brother left, leaving my dad and I to wallow in our own crapulence in Malaysia. But despite that, I witnessed an advertisement that day proclaiming "Smiling Fish! Very delicious" Of course, fish that smile always brings out the natural flavors in them. There was another one advertising a brand of water named imaginitively named "Best Water" Of course, undoubtly the best water on earth.
Most days, it was just really nothing. Hang out with grandparents and go climing Mt. Kinabalu.
I once witnessed what I thought was the funniest thing that would ever happen to me in Malaysia. My dad and I were waiting for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire come on and so caught a viewing of the last scene of the movie before it. This Malaysian movie depicted a man and woman standing in front of what they thought was the dead body of the enemy I presuem. So, thinking that he is dead, they start walking away when the "dead" guy (I guess he wasn't really dead) gets up behind them with blood running all over this body. He raises his gun to shoor the couple as they ran away but before he could pull the trigger, a giant cow came out of nowhere and rammed the guy onto a sharp stick. That kills him. My dad was heard to comment "What the hell is this... a cow butts the guy onto a stick?! Man... how unoriginal"
I have a bit more to say but I'll have to wait for next time. Myy dad is yelling at me from this end becuase he wants to go out shopping.
